Heavy bleeding?

About two days ago I noticed some red blood when I went to the bathroom so I put in a pad then about 5 minutes later I felt a huge gush so I went to the bathroom and as I sat down there was blood just pouring out of me no clots or anything just blood and a few mild cramps so I changed and then 20 minutes later it was pretty much gone just brownish discharge I called my doctor and they told me just to lay down. I have never experienced this before I'm 10 weeks has anyone else had this happen before? Me and my boyfriend and very nervous and since we live in a small town my doctors office doesn't open till tomorrow.

If its got cramping on the left side with bleeding or spotting it might be ectopic.

If it stopped that quickly and you didn't have really bad cramping I wouldn't worry to much. Usually miscarriages hurt really bad and you bleed for a couple days after

you can always go ahead and go to the ER as stated above.  The issue is with early on, there really isn't anything they do to stop it but tell you to go home and lay down.  Then it is a really expensive visit to be told the same thing the doctor says.  But for peace of mind, that can be worth it.

But again, it could just be a placental bleed.  Hang in there.

Personal opinion, to hell with the doctor.. If i had that much blood at any point in my pregnancy I would be going to the ER. No questions asked.

Some doctors do take a hands off approach during the firs trimester due to the high rates of miscarriage and if a woman is going to miscarry during the first trimester, there isn't much they can do.  But it doesn't make women feel any better.  He/she should see you.  However, I do want you to know that women absolutely can have a bleed and things are still fine with the pregnancy.  Okay?  Try to relax and not worry.  I hear ya though, I'd want to be seen too and think that you should be very vocal and forceful about it.  good luck sweetie and let me know how it goes, okay?

Oh my goodness.  Well, some women do have 'bleeds' and everything is fine.  When is your doctor going to see you?
