very happy :)

So I'm happy because today is my due date and I was convinced nothing had changed but I am almost 3cm dilated and 70% effaced. My doctor said he will be surprised if my little one doesn't make his appearance over the weekend! :) But... He says I have to go in on Saturday for a non stress test.. Is that normal?

I go for a NST every week, but I'm only going on 33 weeks. On my last NST a lady that was getting a test done also was late and her doctor had gone on holidays. We talked and she asked the nurse the same question as it was also her first NST. The nurse said it's just to monitor baby's heart beat and movement prior to her being induced within the next couole days.

Well that's why I'm asking. This is my first baby, I'm new at everything. And I didn't get a chance to ask he rushed right out because the office was closing for the holidays.

Maybe it's just because you'll be overdue at that point and they just want to make sure things are ok? Did you ask your doctor why they want you to do it?
