Hot Shower

So I've been feeling light period like cramps since this evening my due date is July 24 and I was wondering if taking a hot shower is okay . I'm a ftm and I don't know how contractions feel like or how to time them. I'm dialated to 2cm and 50% effaced

Don't take a super hot shower because it might cause you to get dizzy/sick but a warm/mildly hot shower should be fine. Contractions in my opinion felt like really really bad period cramps. When you start to feel the cramp, count until you feel it release, then check the time, the next time you start to feel the cramp again, check the time and start counting again. You want to pay attention to how long the cramp lasts, and how many minutes are in between each cramp. Depending on how far you are from the hospital, you should go when they last about a minute and are about five minutes apart. (Unless you have group b strep, in which case once you are sure you are in labor you should call your hospital and see when they would like you to come because you need the antibiotics)
