I dont understand

Not pregnancy related but I don't understand why when someone ask me my name and I say Jenna they look at me funny blacks and whites. Or the read my name on a paper I give them and say Gina like wtf really.  I want to snap so bad but I just leave it be.

If it makes u feel any better there's some black Jenna's where I'm from and we don't look them funny! A name is a name... Only ones we might flinch at are the names that sound like someone's parent threw some keys on the ground and said, "aw that sounds nice, lets name them that" lol.

Yeah, its a race thing. I never met a black person named Jenna. Lol. Im black and my name is Amanda. When my name is called people look around for a little Caucasian chick. It's life though! I dont think you should take offense to it.

Hm.  That is kind of weird, because Jenna is not an unheard-of name.  Once in a movie I saw Beyonce say "I never met a sister named Dawn," meaning that the name was too white.  So maybe it's something like that for African-Americans, they aren't used to such a classically British name.  But it's odd to me that Caucasian people also react that way.  It probably is partly where you live.  I'm in Portland, Oregon, and nobody here would bat an eye at Jenna as a name.
