Thank you so much mommies and soon to be mommies :) if mold grows in the nipples, do we have to buy new ones or is there a special way to clean them?
Breastfeeding varies from mama to mama. My son was so anemic I had to stop at 7 months. A year is the typical goal but some go shorter and sone go longer. It also depends on how long you produce.
I thoroughly rinsed bottles each time and washed them at the end of the day. Be sure to pull out nipples because those places inside are where mold grows and cannot be seen. I've seen nasty bottles!
We used regular detergent unscented, and no fabric softener.
We bathed my son from the get go in a baby tub but didn't submerge his body until the cord fell off (which also varies baby to baby!). Bathe as often as you'd like but we didn't do it daily so we wouldn't dry out his skin.
Everything varies baby to baby and mama to mama. Use your best judgement! You'll be fine, and congrats!
I'm due a week after you :D )
no fabric softner. I use the regular detergent with no chemicals or perfumes its an arm & hammer brand. I also have a bottle sterilizer and baby dish soap to clea. bottles etc. I'm not sure about how to bathe the babys though I just asked ny parents this yesterday and they said you cant give them an actual bath until after the umbilical chord falls off so in the mean time u just wash them with a wash cloth and baby soap. and as for breastfeeding thy say its best to breastfeed up to a year old even to 18 months. go as long ad you can honestly. its better for the baby. I'm a ftm as well so I dont have experience but I'm about to give birth any day now so ive been asking allot of questions and my girlfriends who are already moms have helped me allot.
