I just need to talk..

Sorry for the long post ahead of time but I need to talk to another woman that understands where im coming from... im a ftm at 38 weeks. My fiance and i have everything ready for our baby boy but it seems like everything in the world is turning against us last minute... last friday night our only way of transportation broke down. That vehicle was my only way to the hospital or to someones house if i go into labor because i dont live close to anyone that i really know or am related to. I know there is the ambulance but what if i call the ambulance and i get to the hospital and they send me home. How am i supposed to get home? Id be stuck there. My fiance works 2 hours away and carpools with 2 other crew member from his job since they live close to us. They pick him up and bring him home everyday and he cant drive right now anyway. And here is where it gets rediculous.. we let his mother spend a few nights with us because she needed a place to stay. Well she was living in a pretty bad place and by bad i mean nasty. She showered and whatnot before she went to bed (we let her sleep in our bed for one of 4 nights) but she didnt rewash her clean clothes or dirty clothes first and then left 4 days later.. well this morning when my fiance and i woke up for him to get ready for work he noticed something crawling on his arm and it was a bedbug. He killed it and showed it to me. I googled it and it was most deffinately a bed bug. So now we are going to have to put off fixing our only way of transportation by at least 2 more weeks just to have an exterminator come to our house for one of the grossest bugs anyone could have in their home. It makes me sick. Were going to have to buy new furniture and a new bed and have our curtains drycleaned if the infestation is bad enough we will go by what the exterminator says. Weliterally dont have that kind of money right now. But were gonna have to come up with it because i refuse to bring my newborn home to bedbugs. How am i going to go to appointments for my baby and to the store if i need anything for the baby.. And to top it all off our dryer just broke. Great...

Thanks for the information! I hope that it was only that one bug because i have helped my sister in law who had them in her home because of an infested couch her husband brought home from a dumpster and didnt tell her thats where it came from. He told her it came from a friend so she let him bring it in. They went so long without noticing it that their home was infested badly and they had to call an exterminator and buy new furniture and beds. It was such a long process to get rid of the bugs. I hope it isnt like that here.. thanks again though! :)

Dang!!!  This stinks.  I'm really sorry to hear it.  Bed bugs?  Geez.  Thanks a lot to the lady who brought them in.  The plus side is that it has not been long so the infestation is not going to be massive most likely.

We have an apartment that we rent out and our tenant called about bed bugs.  So, I recently went through pricing this out.  You need to look at the better business bureau and find a reputable place for services.  I had one come out and they found no bed bugs, did a spray and it was not expensive.  Like 100 dollars.  They'd found two live bed bugs and saved them so they WERE bed bugs but there were just those two.  The girls who lived there washed there clothes and vacuumed after the spraying we did.  It's been a year and a half and no sign of future bed bugs.  But I remember all of the different services.  You may not have to get all new furniture.  They can spray your things.  Which totally stinks I know since you are very pregnant and spraying of ANYTHING is a bummer.  It's all a huge inconvenience.  If you live in an apartment----  talk to your landlord.  WE had to pay for the service of removing those bed bugs as the landlords.  If you don't fear that they will then blame you or something kooky like that.  We didn't.  Bed bugs are such that they have to be carried in---  it can happen to anyone and doesn't have anything to do with being clean or not.  But your apartment manager will NOT want the place to get a horrible infestation so will most likely act quickly to help stop it.

I'm so sorry hon!

Can you ask for a loan from family to help with the car?

Don't buy new furniture! It makes no difference. If you get new furniture they will onfest the furniture. They commonoy live in the walls and carpet. Have them come and spray. If it's only 4 days it may have been that only bug. Noth my mother and mother in law have gotten it. I can imagine how stressfull that can be. We just had 6 weeks of hell trying to get rid of flees who where biting me, my husband, and son horribly. 6 weeks later they are totally gone. Such a releif. The bed bugs aren't as gross as you think you just have to worry abo it allergies both my mom and mother in law got their houses heat treated but I know people who sprayed and it's fine. Take off all you sheets and blankets and they grow them in warm water to wash. It kills them. I hope the best for you. What they grow up of insurance do you have? Medicare or caresource give you so many free rides to the doctors per year.
