Induction stories?! Anyone?

Being induced in 5 days. Was wondering how it was for mommies? Excited but nervous at the same time. The last thing I want is for it to result in a c-section. That is the absolute last thing I would go for. Ftm by the way. Thanks in advance.

I was induced with my first. I had the pill inserted into my cervix at 12pm. I was 1 cm dilated but I was not effaced at all and she was not dropping down. I went into active labor after 3 doses of the pill around 10pm. I delivered at almost 7am. My only regret is not getting the epidural sooner. Since my labor lasted so long I ran out of energy and knew I wasn't going to be able to push. Good luck!!

I was induced with both my previous babies because I am type 1 diabetic, so it's riskier for me to be over my due date than to be induced.  The first time I was dilated to one, and labor lasted about 17 hours total, got the epidural around 10 hours in. The second time I wasn't dilated whatsoever, was actually only 36 weeks. But baby was showing heartbeat abnormalities, so we induced. It went about the same , labor was totally textbook.  Induction does not equal c section.

I had an amazing experience when I got induced! I went to the hospital around 6pm, they gave me a pill that went next to my cervix (cervidil) around 8pm. I started having contractions around 3am. Then they gave me pitocin at 9pm and had my babygirl by 3pm! The best way to avoid a c-section is to just relax and focuse on getting your beautiful baby out!

I was about a 1 and I was dialating very slow and then when I got my epidural it went pretty steady and then around 10:30ish we sent the family home to rest cause we thought it wld be a while and they came to check me and then all of a sudden I was ready to push!! Lol so im a firm believer in if your relaxed it helps much much more! Are you planning to get meds?

Thank you! I forgot to type this in my question, but how dilated were you when you were induced. I'm still stuck at a 1 1/2.

I had a great experience! I was induced around 3:30 p.m. and had my son by 11:17 that night!:) it was smooth and then I received my epidural and was able to relax and I really think that since I could relax, it helped him move down and stay down and I only pushed abt 3 times and he came out!:) I hope its a great experience for you too! Just remember to relax and breathe and try ur very best not to tense up in contractions because it causes the baby's head to move back up each time causing more time you spend in labor! Your in my prayers!
