Definitely don't mention it until you get the job. They aren't allowed to ask you any sort of pregnancy related questions. I made the mistake of telling them I was pregnant during a SECOND interview once with a clinic and I never got a call back and usually when a second interview happens you pretty much got the job... They asked me "So what are your plans for this year?" So I told them the truth and I never got a call back. My teacher told me to never discuss personal matters during interviews and that it's none of their business anyway. I definitely felt like I shouldn't have said anything once I left I just had a bad feeling. And not their mind I know they were probably thinking, "We can't hire her because she'll need to take leave within the next couple months." So definitely don't say anything just tell your boss on your first day of work. They can't fire you for being pregnant, it's illegal.. they never told me why they didn't hire me but I know that was why but of course they weren't gna tell me that. At that time you could tell I was pregnant too because of the shirt I was wearing so I think that's why they asked me what my plans were for the year.. so lesson learned. That's when I went out and got a new cute bigger shirt and landed that job and told my boss the day I started and all he said was congrats.
I agree don't mention your lil bun in the oven. Depending where you work you are not legally obligated to mention your pregnancy until after 24 weeks for maternity leave purposes.
Thank you for the advice. Unsure how I've gained so much. I typically get sick 6-8 timesa day, but iI've already gained 10 lbs. Isn't easy trying to hide it. What I've gathered from all of you is just don't mention it in the interview unless they bring it up first.
Depending on the type of work, they need to know asap that you are pregnant. I would wait until they hire you and then tell them.
Buy a cute flowy shirt. That's what I did and you couldn't even tell I was pregnant. I ended up getting the job and then I told them I was expecting on my first day of work.
