I have had TMJ since I was 16. I went through the day mouth guard and then to the night. Now I only need my guard when I get stressed out that I clench my jaw while sleeping. The guards are nice and do make a difference. I was also given muscle relaxers for it in the beginning.
I have used lavender oil on my tmj. I have also had to have a tooth pulled (wisdom tooth) and used a combination of lavender and clove to help the pain.
Mine has only been giving me an issue during pregnancy for the last two weeks. Before that I have not had any issues that weren't "normal" tmj issues for me. I would say at about 37 weeks it started acting up.
I have it. And it *****. But it didn't get worse when i got pregnant
I never told the dentist which I should... but Yes it hurts so bad when it gets stuck. Mine hasn't been that bad lately though.
Yes, that is tmj. A few years ago when I had mine looked at the dentist suggested either surgery or a mouth guard while sleeping is the only thing that will help it. I had moments in the last years that I've had it where it bothers me and is painful, but the last two weeks have been bad! At times when I bite down and it's out of place the pain is so sharp and it feels like my ear is bleeding the sensation I get from all the pain. Always an only on my left side.
My jaw also pops whenever I eat it hurts so bad! I can't open my mouth wide
