Just wondering......

I'm a ftm! I'm 35 weeks, will have my baby girl any dayfriend friend of mine said to make sure when I go into labor my toes are done.  Which really isn't a big deal but the massages do help my swelling.  Any way on the other hand ive heard it isn't a good idea to have your toes painted due to the hospital rules. Is this true?

Well my Dr said if she wanted to come at 36 weeks she wasnt going to stop her. Im 36 weeks saturday!!! Reason I said she will be here any day now is because of the fact that ive been having pressure, and contractions. Btw not every womens pregnancy is the same. But for everyone else thank you for the answers and help.

If you are only 35 weeks, why do you think you will have your baby any day?? 37 weeks is considered early full-term. At 35 weeks, baby's lungs aren't always ready for the outside world.

Sorry, that last sentence should have said "This is only for fingernails (i think) so painting your toes is not an issue."

The nail polish thing is in case you have to have an emergency surgery (where they knock you out completely). They put an oxygen probe on your finger to monitor how much oxygen you're getting and the sensor can't read it accurately through fake nails or nail polish. Also your fingernails would turn blue if you're not getting enough oxygen, so they want to be able to see that. This is a general "rule" for any surgery, so its just a recommendation that you don't paint your nails in case the worst happens during delivery where you'd have to have an emergency c-section (tge kind when you get knocked out instead of the spinal block thing where you're still awake) But theres no issues with getting your toes done!

You're fine to get your toes painted. Nothing is going to happen.

Not sure about your toes not being able to be done, I wouldn't see why it's a problem. Some women and doctors say that pedicures/foot massages can trigger labor. There are pressure points on your feet that are said to start labor.
