I'm due November 18th with my first baby and I plan on going natural. Very worried, but I feel it's safer for both me and my son.

Natural = vaginal delivery. It has nothing to do with an epidural.

I had the epidural the first time, I am considering no mess this time around but my bad is saying I can't handle it lol I did scream so much the first time around but I'm kinda thinking I might be able to handle it. Just depends I think on how long I'm in labor if I will last going through all the way without meds!

Mum2b260216, natural doesn't mean just vaginal for most women. It usually means without medical intervention. The ACOG don't have a specific definition as it is a confusing term, although most ob/gyns would describe it as such. The SOGC (society of ob/gyns Canada) defines it as intervention free. Obviously you're free to define it how you like as it's not a concrete medical term, but for most people, their definition is birth without medical intervention.

I had an epidural with my first 2 then decided to go all natural with my 3rd. It was amazing so worth it. I plan to do the same with this one.

I am a ftm and would like to try without the epidural.  This will most likely be my only child and I am curious to see how it feels.  If the pain is too much, I will be ok with getting some meds to help.

I'm planning to have an unmedicated birth after getting an epidural with my son. I'm so excited!

Lousie_1986.. Here in the United States when your OB asks if you have had a natural birth. They are asking if it was vaginal or csection. Actually my OB never has asked if I used any medication. In my experience they don't ask until either you are at the hospital or planning the induction. Unmedicated is just your preference. It's interesting how medical procedures are so different in other countries. Some countries don't do epidurals at all, some mainly have midwives, some use OB's, here most women birth at the hospital, in Europe it seems like most people birth at home. It's kind of neat hearing about everyone else's experience.

This is my 4th child and I plan on doing this one natural, like I did with my other 3. I don't like any type of drugs in my body, so I have always done it naturally. And epidurals scare the crap out of me.
