Not always. My daughter was one day late and I had asked my daughter if she will unduce me if the baby is not here in 40 weeks. She said since I have nocomplica tions she will wait atleast one week or maybe even 2 weeks before doing an induction depending upon the baby's stress levels at that point. She said going natural is the best part of pregnancy and I should try for that. Induction can be done anytime if necessary. She was amazing for saying that and I am glad my girl decided to come out on her own at 40 weeks and one day. Good luck to you.

I don't see why you would be induced unless there was a medical reason. With my first I had hypertension and was supposed to be induced on July second (2 days after my due date) I ended up going into natural labor on the first and had him on the 2nd. I don't think there's anything wrong going over your due date. 42 weeks is usually the limit for most doctors since at that time the placenta starts to lose it's ability to properly provide for baby.

I was 1 day early. My water started leaking and my doctor had me wait it out for about 22 hours before suggesting I try pitocin since infection could happen around 24 hours after the water breaks.

Yeah I dont want to be induced. I'm almost 38 weeks and haven't even lost my plug yet. I talked to my husband about walking and having more sex but he said I'll probably be induced anyways.

It depends on doctors. So many obgyns go for induction. But its your choice a doctor cant force induction on you. Ive heard so many women even ask how to indice at home because their doctor is going to induce at 39 weeks just because. Its ridiculous. It depends on your body im okay with induction of there is complications or if you go over a week late but anytime before that is in my opinion a mistake.

No, I wasn't and I was late. I think it comes down to there are more women who choose to be induced than just ftm. My water broke and the on call dr said my labor pains weren't bad enough so they should put me on pitocin.  I said no. My labor increased naturally in a few hours. I think there are also a lot of people who may be afraid to speak up and advocate for themselves.
