Wow that's pretty callous. I did with my first but that was 10 years ago when I was in my 20 ' s. In my 30 ' s my body isn't as. .. full of energy. I am sorry to hear what a jerk she is being. Maybe by next week you can coax her into it. Everyone wants to get rid of a crying pregnant lady ;)

I'd say now is a good time. You could possibly have the baby in 2 weeks or a month but either way rest up labor is tiring and when baby comes you'll be exhausted. Enjoy the little time you have left. This is your last chance to focus on you before baby.

I did talk to my doc. She said the kind of swelling I have is expected :-S . But I understand what you are saying too. I feel like i spend the whole week working that when the weekend does come Im so fatigued that i just want to rest and i end up not setting any baby stuff :-(

Swelling is not a good sign...my sister worked until she was 40weeks and up to the day before she was induced. She had terrible swelling in her feet and ankles and she probably would have been better off taking time off a few weeks before.  Have you talked to your doctor about the swelling? He may want you on modified bed rest and you could take time off with a doctor's note without using your mat leave.
