It's not a fairy tale I know of this girl who her baby got a cleft lip last time there was an eclipse n now her baby had surgery to get that fixed so I always wear a red bracelet be careful ladies
My grandma says its a Mexican belief that the eclipse you have to wear a red ribbon on you or even a red rubber band , they say the eclipse when your pregnant can give your baby cleft lip. (Sounds silly but that's the Mexican belief lol)
Well stayed out watching it. I do my beloved anything like that. My cousin was pregnant had her baby during the eclipse n her baby was perfectly fine. N last year when she was pregnant she watched the eclipse nothing happened
I am not allowed to step out of home....and also have been asked not to eat during the time of eclipse and not to use any sharp objects....basically its all why old ppl believe..but I am following it so that if something happens they don't taunt me later
@UniquelyMoi247..yeah thats why i was a bit concerned.Well...Thanks ladies.yeah this is a bit about superstitions and ancient kind of thing.
Well im wearing a red ribbon on my wrist if anything. :)

I've heard of this but I don't believe it. It's basically a superstition, an ancient belief dating back as early as the Aztecs! They believed that an eclipse was 'a bite on the face of the moon' so if a mum watched the eclipse the same would happen to her baby - e.g a birth defect such as cleft lip. Apparently, a mother must carry something metallic - a safety pin on underwear is a common precaution. The red thing is also very common, underwear or some sort of red ribbon.... I find superstitions fascinating :)
So I'm about to deliver in 3 days or at least that's my due date anyway... what's the eclipse wife tales??! Its freaking me out now :/ -sniffle-
My mom also told me to wear red. I just matched my undergarments :p
I dont want to be rude but this kind of sounds silly.. in my opinion its something ancient ppl may have went by. I like things like this so hopefully i can stay up for it!
My mom says to wear a all red bracelet.
None. It's an old wives tale and won't effect you at all unless you are about to deliver anyway.
What is this :/ I'm confused
I am so confused what does the eclipse have to do anything with the baby? Never heard of this.
I'm in USA, and thought this was a joke (I couldn't imagine why), but saw this and maybe it will help:
