Yeah, I had last year with my son, along with insulin, and I kept taking it after I gave birth, and now I'm pregnant again, and I'm gonna use it, for me, it worked, and is safe for pregnant women, I don't think they would prescribe it if it wasn't
I was on metformin before pregnancy when i found out they immediately took me off. I was told some women stay on till mid 2nd tri but have to b taking off after that. Me and my doc didnt wanna take any chances since you dont have to b on it...u can do insulin like stated above which is safer. Good luck tho...metformin is the devil lol but i will b going back on it after delivery this weekend
With my last pregnancy I had GD I had to take insulin 3 times a day. After I gave birth then they put me on metformin.
In Canada, metformin is under clinical study for pregnancy. The officially approved treatment is insulin shot. I'm taking insulin but diet and exercice is more than needed to keep it under control. If your physician prescribed it He most think it is safe.
