I got that shot and my flu shot at my Ob/gyn. They told me my husband would also have to get the whooping cough shot and that a pharmacy like Walgreens could accommodate him for that.

Your doc should be giving it to you in the last few weeks of your pregnancy. At least mine did. Doc said the reason they give it to mom is obviously so you can't pass it onto your baby, but also the baby gets some of the medicine from you when it's given to you so baby is protected that way also. Baby doesn't get his or her own whooping cough shot until 6 months old or so.

I got mine done at my dr's office from my dr's nurse. Just got it last Thursday at 26 weeks. But I know you can also get them at Walgreens, that's where my husband got one when I was pregnant the last time.

It offers a bit of protection to your baby as well.

The shot is for you so you don't give it to baby if you get it. It's very very dangerous for the baby.

My obgyn did mine not too long ago. If you don't want to go to your doctor you can go to almost any pharmacy. Make sure your doctor isn't planning on giving it to you. They just brought mine in and said shot time! Lol I didn't get a choice.

Not to steal your thread, but my doctor gave me that vaccine around the end of 2nd trimester. Is that for me or baby? Or both?
