Medicaid

Can anyone give me some insight on medicaid and the medicaid star program I asked yesterday and got no help maybe this forum will actually help me.

It took 30 days to approve then they back pay 90 days I've been sick a lot so when I went to the er before I was approved I told them I had applied for medicaid and they knew They back pay One negative is now u can only get 5 rx in a month I been sick alot so in Sept I had to not get one of my rx bc it was over 50 dollars

I went to my local planned parenthood and got the application done there... they will also give you a 30 day temp card automatically. Then you will receive info in the mail if you are accepted or not, if so they will have you choose an HMO and your forward health card will come in the mail

You can't sign your baby up for medicaid until he/she is born. I just got signed up myself yesterday. I am covered under my step dad's insurance until I'm 21.. (June '15) so I am using medicaid as my secondary insurance.. but it will be my son's primary insurance when he is born. Now that I am set up all I have to do is "add-a-baby" onto it.. they just need his name, birthday,  & my case # and he will be accepted. Super easy. I just called and sat on hold for a while..and then they got me all set up. I don't know much more than that..

The medicaid I applied for 2 weeks ago and they have already approved it for me and the star program they made me pick an insurance provider for my pcp I guess what I am needing to know is what about my son I already have and the new baby will I get to keep his pediatrician? I know the clinic takes medicaid and all I'm just confused on it all

Well when you sign up for Medicaid you will get a date on your online account and call them , they will ask ur due date you will have to pick Humana family and in a month u will get ur card
