Morality???

Is it wrong to go to church when you're pregnant and not married? I'm 22 years old and I'm not married. My grandmother has refused that i go to since 18 weeks saying that it's embarrassing, shameful and also a sin. I'm 36 weeks now. Am I wrong for wanting to go to church?

and if you are Catholic you can receive communion as long as you confess your sins and get an absolution from the priest. I'm 18 and not married and the priest allows me to receive. as long ad you are sorry for your sins and like I said in good standing with God your sacraments are still avaibale for you.

go to church girl! its important that you build your relationship with God and its so great that you yourself want to go. God is forgiving and as long as you know you're in good standing with your faith and you love going to church that's what's important. God bless you.

I would think about how you feel. Besides Grandma and the church, do you feel like you have sinned? If so, prayer can help you feel close to god again and be changed in him. When you feel close to god I promise you will feel confident in going to worship him at church.

Sounds like it is just your grandma and not the church.  Your grandma she is being old fashion and not very Christian by telling you not to go to church because she's embarrassed.  Your relationship with God is more important than weather or not granny is embarrassed.  Chances are it's all in her head.  Most Christians know that we all live with a variety of different sins and don't sit in church judging each other.

He without sin can cast the first stone..just because u can blaitently see ur pregnant and that u have sinned doesn't mean u can't be forgiven I bet there's tuns of sinners in that church ya never know wat goes off behind closed doors

Jesus loves u regardless I'm in the same situation churches have "standards" however my church accepts us. Do u plan to get married? Maybe find another church or speak to the pastor and tell them how u feel and what ur grandmother has said.

Go to church if that's what you feel you would like to go. I'm not a religious person but from what I understand different people see God in different ways. there are people who are afraid Of God because they feel he/she or it is judging them. and there are those who see God as a kind all forgiving entity who will love you no matter what so long as you know in your heart you are a good person and doing the best you can. by the way, you have done nothing wrong

My boyfriend and I are not married. This is our second child together, we have a 4 year old already. We go to church together every week. No one at this church judges us for not being married yet. We are all sinners. Maybe you can find a new church to attend where they aren't so judgemental. I have never been one to go to church because I always felt like people would judge me. We actually started going here because my boyfriend has struggled with addiction for the past 3 years and he's now living in a rehab run by this church. They're all about helping people and it's great. Everyone is welcoming and treats everyone who walks through to door with the same kindness. I feel like more churches should be like this.

By no means is it wrong to attend church while single and pregnant...it's not like you're in the pulpit ministering.  You and baby should be accepted with open arms and if you aren't, you may need to relocate.  Unfortunately and fortunately,  grandma sounds old school and really means well though. Best wishes and enjoy church!!

I was 4 1/2 months pregnant when I got married. Of course we had to sit down with the pastor and tell him but he just prayed for my husband and I. We've had several women at our church end up pregnant before they were married and there were a few of the older women who like to gossip but you just hold your head high and keep moving on. The Bible clearly says that God does not see different levels of sin, there is no sin greater than the next and because no one being was ever perfect (besides Jesus himself of course), they are all sinners just like you and me. Pre-marital pregnancy should never keep a woman (or man) from church. If you want to go, go. Grandma is just going to have to get over it along with the rest of the church. If you're uncomfortable going to the same one, there are many others with an open door policy and I would encourage you to seek one out. Good luck and prayers for you and your baby!

I got married in a church at 5 and a half months. You go. If it's a good caring congregation nobody is going to judge or even turn a head except to congratulate you. Remind the person telling you not to go that you are no less loved or punished for anything you've done.

Everyone is a sinner and everyone should be forgiven for what they have done and aloud to worship God if the church has a problem with it u should find a different church if u want to go u should definitely go God forgives u and really that's all that matters

Are you Catholic?  If so,  you can go to Mass but can not take communion,  nor can the father of the baby.

Some priests will make a public showing of refusing you communion,  and others will gracefully give you communion.

If you're not Catholic,   can you join a different church from your grandmother?  She's embarrassed,  and her friends have her like minded sensibilities and it will likely be uncomfortable for you to go there and be judged.

There are lots of large nondenominational Christian churches that would welcome you with open arms.

Go to church hun. Most of us go to seek change & to get closer to God. According to the word of God having the wrong spirit toward others is a sin also because Jesus was full of love & compassion so grandma is in just as much error as she feels your pregnancy is.

That's being judgmental. And of a church says that to you. I would stop going. Not because I was pregnant. But because god wasn't in that church. And church is nothing like an AA or NA meeting. Those are to help people get off drugs. Yes its on a higher power program. But its not like church.

I cant believe your grandma would say that! No its not wrong. Its never too late to go to church. All sin can be forgiven. Im also 22 years old, not married, and im 27 weeks pregnant. I started going to church a couple months ago and everyone there is just happy that i come.

What someone just told me was church is like an AA meeting. You all go there because youre working on something. You go there to get help and work together towards a goal.

I wish my church would tell me that I couldn't attend because I'm pregnant without being married. Those are extremely old thoughts and have no place in today's society. Go ahead to church sweetheart

Life happens hon.  Sometimes things don't go down how as we plan or want in life.  G od understands and loves you, no matter mistakes you've made or situations that turned out less than ideal.  The other thing is that no one knows your story.

go and hold your head high and worship as you like.  I'm glad you want to go. peace

Everyone at church has sinned in some way because noone is perfect. You have every right to go because God welcomes all his children and is a forgiving God. Noone should judge you.

No it's not wrong, if they don't accept you something is wrong with that church and you should find a new one.
