If there's no way to fix it, its fine! I'll just continue to try and see what I can do myself if there's nothing anyone else could do. :)
There is nothing else you can do. I'm terrified of needles/shots and I've gotten my blood drawn from my veins so many times while being pregnant. I'd never done it before. I would never let me regular Dr. I know now that it doesn't hurt but I'm still scared. I just look away and it's over before I know it. I even got an epidural last week.. Proud of myself.
There's nothing you can do. Im sorry you are so afraid but there's nothing to fear but a little pinch or burn feeling and then it's over.
Unfortunately you will need lots of blood work and vaccines throughout your pregnancy, and when you go on to deliver. I would just try some good breathing techniques to keep you calm or engage in a conversation so that your mind is occupied while they are doing it. Just keep your head turned away and it will be over before you know it!!
I was deathly scared of vomiting and would have a full blown panic attack and pass out when I would even get nauseous but since I've had severe vomiting my entire pregnancy I've gotten over it a little... needles are only scary for a minute or two. Just close your eyes and take a deep breath. It'll be over before you know it!
Idk what docs are doing in different areas of the world these days but I'm 16+4 weeks and I have only had my blood drawn. My first pregnancy was a blood draw at 12 week's and my epidural. I don't get the flu shots but I know for a fact they have mist vaccine that goes up ur nose for the flu.
What I always did when I was getting a needle was not to look close my eyes and plug music in my ears
I have the same fear. I have passed out several times due to having to get shots/needles. Mine is more mental.... the more I think about it the worse it is. So I've learned that I have to have someone there with me and i tell the nurse/doctor not to tell me when they are going to stick me. Just do it. I also freak out when i have to get the iv put in during induction. So i make them put this sleeve thing on over it so I can't see the tub coming out of my arm. it helps. You just have to figure out what works best for you to mentally get through it.
I look away when they bring the needle out. I just don't like seeing it going into my arm. Yiu can talk to your doctor about some kind of anti-anxiety meds you can try that are pregnancy safe. Lots of blood tests during pregnancy, sorry to say.
