Nasal Congestion
Has anyone had SEVERE nasal congestion? I've tried meds, nose strips and nothing seems to work. I've even tried the nasal breathe aids you stick inside your nose.
A neti pot is a way to put warm salt water in one nasal passage and it comes out the other one. It is kind of gross and scary at first because if you do it wrong you get water up ur nose feeling but once you get the hang of it its amazing. It reduces swelling, moistens ur nose if ur dry, gets out snot and such. If you do it twice a day your problem will most likely resolve.
I'll look into neti pot. Is it luke a humidifier kind of thing? If it turns out neti pot doesn't work, am I just supposed to deal with it?!
A lot of times in pregnancy the congestion is actually caused by swelling due to increased blood flow. The inside of the nose is very vascular so it can make you feel congested and can also cause you to have nose bleeds.
One girl was having the same problem and some of us recommended the neti pot. It works wonders! Im in the same boat my nose is stuffy and my throat is so dry. Ive been using saline nasal spray but the neti pot works best.
