Natural- Unmedicated- Homebirth

Im 16 weeks tomorrow, and starting to try to prepare for a natural, unmedicated homebirth. If for some reason homebirth is impossible, I still want an unmedicated labor. Thinking of this as my "training" time, because with my first I wanted to try unmedicated, but was totally unprepared! Leading up to labor I assumed I'd go into labor naturally and never considered how common induction is with OBGYNs. I was pressured to induce, got all the domino interventions that go along with induction, and even though it was amazing bringing my daughter into the world, I am looking for something different this time! I'm confident in my bodies ability, and know what to expect (kinda, i know every experience is different), and am hoping for any tips, suggestions, websites, books, pratices, quotes etc. That have been especially helpful to the other mamas who have birthed either at home, in water, unmedicated, etc...Thanks!

I had a homebirth with my second chhild and will be having one with this one. My homebirth is on my journal entries. Please just educate yourself with homebirth. I hate seeing women complain about how their homebirth went wrong because they didn't educate themselves on what they were doing. Yes anything can happen. You can message me and ask me questions because you need all the support you can get. Don't be surprised when you tell people and they say "all babies die when they are birthed at home".

I had an unmedicated natural birth almost two weeks ago! :) I would say don't forget to breathe!! Tensing up during a contraction is the worst thing you can do. Breathe breathe and don't forget to breathe! Also have someone in the room to rub your back.. helps relieve some of the pressure. Make sure this person will also coach you through everything and help you stay true to your goal of no medication. My fiance was amazing with me and I don't think I could've went through with it without him.

Just make sure there is a hospital close by in case of an emergency. I did a natural water birth at my last midwifes house and almost lost my daughter due to complications. My pregnancy was flawless as well. That's my only suggestion.

Youtube has many videos of births as well as informative vids that could help. I'm a ftm and i wanted a home birth but turns out i cant have that. So I'm compromising with a hospital water birth. I hope when i get to the hospital i dont hear a different story. Good luck and i hope u get ur heart's desire.
