Natural birth

I'll be due in less than two weeks:) this is my first pregnancy & i would like to know everything about natural birth. Like was it easy and really painful without meds?. At first i wanted to get the epidural but i kinda want to have my baby natural. Oh yeah, and are there any ways to ease the pain during labor?

I've done 4 on gas and air and one natural. I don't know how I managed it natural though but I do remember I was pushing on arrival. Personally I'd go in to hospital with an open mind. Go as far as you can naturally then if you need anything try gas and air so you can still be in control  (unless your like me and you clamp your Teeth and refuse to part with it) . Good look and enjoy meeting your little baby

I agree with the above poster. I had an epi with 1,2,3 went natural with 4 and he was the biggest. It was mostly mind over matter. I didn't concentrate on the pain, just breath through contractions. I walked around a lot, sat on birthing ball, I didn't lie down at all, as I wanted to go quick and lying down slows it down. I hate waiting and hospitals so I definitely had the hurry up let's gets out of here attitude. Even through pushing, I just give it all I got to get them out quick. You just push like you have to poo.stay calm and focused and you should be ok. The only time it really hurtwas the ring of fire but it's so quick. I never cried or screamed either

Giving birth naturally was the most empowering experience of my life. I felt i was able to cope well with labour pain using different measures to comfort myself. I spent a lot of time walking between contractions to relax my muscles. Towards the end i spent most time in the birth pool. Warm water was a real bliss. During the most intense contractions i used slow, deep breathing and my husband rubbed my back for me. I didn't cry out in pain a single time and if you are confident in the strength of your body it doesn't need to be anything near like they make it seem in movies.
You just try different things until you find what works best for you. For me lying down was real hell. I felt contractions would rip my body apart. But as soon i was in an upright position it all got a lot easier again :)
I wish you the best of luck! You can do this!

I will not lie, the contractions are very painful. The epidural became my best friend that day
