100% natural homebirth for me. The pain is natural and okay. We usually associate pain with something being wrong. Giving birth is not one of those times. The pain is necessary and good. You have to get your mind right, and then the pain is not as intense. This is my second child :) and I am so excited

Woohoo! I'm a homebirth momma too. :) 2nd baby but first at home. After an unecessary, forced induction and somewhat traumatic hospital birth with our first, I could't imagine giving birth in a hospital again unless it was medically necessary.

Epidural... Because this is my first and I know I'm going in the delivery room by myself I'm already scared of the pain and I know I probably wont be able to handle it by myself so i desided to Just go with the epidural... Idk.. lame reason but good enough for me I guess

not a lame reason, just your reason thats all it is. :)

I am going all natural. My reasoning:
1.Epidural enters the baby's blood stream so why refrain from fish, deli meat and other dangerous things when you are going to put something like that in your baby's body.
2. The epidural restricts movement of the mother, can cause your blood pressure to lower which can ultimately lead to more interventions including cesarean.
3. Very often leads to longer labors which can also lead to c section for many reasons including the sac being broken for too long allowing bacteria into both mom and baby's body and greater risk of infection.
4. Sometimes it doesn't even kick in until after the baby is born and you end up feeling everything anyways. Or not being able to fully enjoy your baby after birth and even can cause problems with women choosing to breastfeed.
These are just some reasons why I choose not to. Nothing against people who choose to have them. Doesn't make you any less of a goddess :)

I wanted to go nnatural but  wasnt completely opposed to getting an epidural if i really wanted it. I ended up being in labor at 4 cm for 7 hours and only  got to about 6cm i was in alot of pain exhausted and  needed sleep so i ended up asking for the epidural. Got it around  8 hours in labor and didnt have my son until 25 hours of labor. I dont regret it but i want to try again for natural but hopefully i progress faster this time.

Yeah my doctor told me the same thing because my water broke but contractions had not started, but I ended up using nipple stimulation by breast pump, and that got the contractions rolling pitocin is harder on you because it's forcing your body to do something it's not ready to
My daughter was a late premie when I was induced with her. So I'm so impatient with this baby now I'm 36 almost 37 weeks and so over this pregnancy lol

Yes I can honestly say my last one was my hardest labor but now I look at him and it was all worth it...
its always worth it in the end, for my first i felt like super woman in a world where most prefer the meds.
Yes I completely understand what your saying with my first one I even walked my self to the hospital I felt like a boss had my son 25 min after I got there

My first I had an epidural but waited until 7cm so I wasn't restricted. It definitely did not slow my labor down. My labor lasted a totalk of 7 hours...and only pushed for 15 minutes. My second came so quickly I didn't have an option...and it was horrible...I think I was more at risk having cesarean the second time when all natural! I'm really hoping this one will allow me some time to get the epidural! Although, now I know WILL survive either way!

With my first I was stuck on just going natural but my contractions were too painful so after 9 hours I decided to get the epidural and it was such a relief. So with my second I asked the nurse for it immediately. Now with my third I am planning on getting it again. And I have no back problems at all.

Pregnancy in general ruins your back so I hope no one turns down an epidural because all of these people are scaring them lol

I had an epidural with.my first,  but I wore off before I started pushing so gave birth all natural.

It was absolute hell
It was not a good experience for me. I wouldn't have wished that pain on my worst enemy.

I'd like to go natural a gain with this one, but will most definitely try the epidural again if I can't handle it.

I went into it wanting to go natural but we were a special case. I was in active labor for 10 hours and I didn't even progress pass an 8 so I HAD to relieve the pain. After 30 hours I ended up getting a csection because it had been like 36 hours since my water broke and o started getting an infection. BUT I wouldn't change it!
This time around I'm just gonna get another csection!

I'm going natural went natural with my last two an I think it's best with epidural you'll have constant back problems an my labor move so much faster with no meds

You wasn't scared at all of the epidural, I'm way more afraid of getting and epidural than the contractions lol.

I had gone into premature labor with my son and they stopped it at 34 weeks but then I kept having contractions and I basically was in the slow labor for about 4 weeks till my son was born so I was beyond done with the pain you know. I wasn't scared and I didn't even feel the needle or anything. It worked fast. It was the first time in a long time I was able to sleep and feel okay. I didn't get any side affects after but cold and shivering. Good luck

I'm most likely going to ask for an epidural. I had it last time with my son and I loved it and slept like a baby all night long till it was time to push.

Really it may be different for everyone, the best position for me in the end was laying down on my back, i didn't think the pain was that unbearable either though, I've had worst period cramps, and make sure you have a good support group to keep your mind off that epidural,in the end all the contractions will be a distant memory

I have a question this is my first baby and I'm being induced tomorrow now I want to try all natural but I'm not sure because I definitely don't want a epidural. So what were some things you women did to help with the pain for going all natural?

Movement. Make sure you keep your body moving, walk, bring your yoga ball and bounce on it, lean against the bed or your yoga ball and rotate your hips for back labor, if you are able to go to a hospital with water laboring possibilities then that can help with pain too! Good luck!
I was induced with my first and desperately wanted to go natural. Pitocin is no joke. It makes contractions so much more intense. With an induction, your baby has to be monitored constantly, and you may be confined to your bed (like me) if he/she is not cooperative with the fetal monitor.

I was in natural labor for 30 hours before I was given the ultimatum of "having" to choose between either an epidural or a c-section. Obviously, we chose the epidural. But if I had to do it all over again, I would've refused the induction in the first place.
