Night sweats?

Hi, I'm a lil over 5 weeks pregnant and I just woke up in the middle of the night soaking wet with my tshirt completly drenched in sweat and my heart racing like I ran a marathon. I thought for sure I am running a high fever, but  when I took my temperature it was only 97.7F. I'm confused, earlier in the evening I had chills and had to layer up. Kinda felt like I was coming down with a cold. Luckly I have a doc appt in the morning so I will report my symptoms, but is this something that some of you encountered in the first trimester? Kinda freaking out here and my morning appt seems so far away. Thanks!

Thank you ladies. Had a chat with the midwife and she said it was perfectly normal and it's due to hormonal changes. She told me to drink lots of water to keep hydrated. I actually managed to fall back asleep on the couch last night where it was cooler and woke up in the morning fully rested but with a bit of a  stiff neck from the couch :)

I've been having trouble regulating my body temp from the beginning (I'm now 15 weeks).  It's the hormones and extra blood running around my system.

But, like with everything else, if you're nervous or uncomfortable, call or go see your doc.

Everything is fine. It is your body trying to make adjustments to you being pregnant. Unless you wake up in the morning not feeling any better than you maybe coming down with a cold or something. But make sure that you always talk to your doctor about anything that may worry you.
