sleeping on tummy??

My babygirl loni loves laying/sleeping on her tummy, the Dr says babies should only sleep on their backs due to higher risks of sids she does ok sleeping on her back but she is fussy and only has cat naps on her back. She will sleep perfectly on her tummy even snores. Im usually up when i lay her to sleep on tummy because this is my first and i get nervous from what the drs say but i honestly feel she is most comfortable on her tummy. My baby is 1month and 1week old. Does anyone else let their newborn lay on their tummy ?? Please feel free 2 give me advice !!!

Well she sleeps right next to us in her bassinet so shes in the room with us ...she lifts her head and turns it fine its just she prefers being on her tummy she is a very gassy baby so i think being on her tummy helps with the gas ..

I agree with maw4389. My son suffered an ATLE when he was four days old and getting one of those was the only way I could sleep. If you want to allow her to sleep on her tummy but you're afraid, that could help.

My son is 6 months old and he has slept on his stomach since we got home from the hopsital. I thinks it fine to let them sleep on their stomach if that's how they prefer to sleep. You could move her to your room so you can monitor her more closely.  Hope this helps

You should check out the Angel Care monitoring system if you're worried about her sleeping on her stomach.
