Pain in Cervix?

I'm 19 weeks 2 days pregnant and have been having sharp shock like pains in what feels like my cervix. The pains are quick and go away fast. They are mild and nothing crazy painful or anything that causes me to topple over. Just fast quick pains that have happened maybe 3 times this week. It's my first pregnancy and I'm just worried and wondering if this is normal. I've been googling things and incompetent cervix stories keep popping up so I'm wondering if I should go to the ER even though they're Mild and go away quick

I had that with my 1 st pregnancy and again with this one. It feels as though someone has flicked the neck of your womb. Sorry but it's the best way I can describe it. It's the 1 st movements of the baby u are feeling. Y will find in a couple of weeks u will still have this feeling but u will also start feeling "real" movements from the baby too. Don't ever feel stupid for seeking advice. My doctor always told me she would rather speak to 10 women that had silly concerns than the one woman who didn't seek.advice when she should have. Hope this helps xx

I am 27 weeks and have had that occasionally throughout my pregnancy. Like others said it gets worse/more frequent as baby gets bigger and her position. I havent had any problems with my pregnancy so I just thought it was normal. I would let your DR know at ur next appt though that this is happening.

The doctor on call called me back. He said it doesn't sound significant and if it we're contractions or dialating that it would be different and I'd know apparently. He says I shouldn't be concerned cause they are mild and go away real quick and it could just be a ligament or muscle spasm on my pelvic floor or the baby kicking my cervix. He said if I'm worried I can see one of them tomorrow but I have my 20 week appt. On Wednesday so I think I'll just wait till Wednesday and talk to my doc about it. Thanks for your response ladies. Looks like everything is good

I've done that for 10 weeks now. As the baby gets heavier it gets much worse. I'm dilated to a 2 and 70% effaced. My doctor said the pains have nothing to do with it changing. So its probably fine but you should always ask your doctor if it worries you!

So its pretty normal then....what did your doctor say it is? I just left a message for the on call doctor just to be safe....I feel totally stupid for even calling but I just don't know what it is.

Its Sunday and they're closed. I can leave a message for the doctor on call but I hate to do that if this is just a normal thing. It's not happening now And has only happened like 3 times in a week. Do you think I should just call the on call doctor or wait till my appointment on Wednesday?

Every pregnancy is different. I would Def say something to your doctor and have him confirm nothing is wrong

I have no idea if it's in the cervix or not. It just feels low and on the inside. Its a quick sharp pain some people have called lightening crotch? Weird I know. But that's what I've heard it called. Other people said it could be round ligament pain.
