Pet peeves

Am I the only person that finds the terms babymama & baby daddy extremely rude and disrespectful? Especially while your in a relationship with that person? Or even separated? Like either call me his girlfriend or the mother of his children  but don't call me his babymama, and don't refer to him as my babydaddy. Like geeze.

Anddd my boyfriend hates it too. He's never referred to me as that and knows I'd flip out if he did.

I agree!! I hate that too. Makes me so mad. My boyfriend was buying a motorcycle a couple weeks ago off of a couple, they were really nice but while she was talking to me she kept referring to him as my "baby daddy" after like 3 times of her saying it, I stopped her and said don't call him that. His names my Bryan. Call him that or call him my boyfriend. So rude!

I refer to my children's father as my children's father or the father of my kids even if we are together I nvr refer to him as baby daddy or boyfriend lol idk why since we had our first it's what he's been but I'm usually talking to professional ppl or older people when I refer to him as that so that's why I dnt call him baby daddy and to my friends I say his name and to my associates I say Grace dad which is my oldest daughter he calls me his baby mother I hate it but he dnt know no better he talks to useless non working bundle or ghetto ppl so we not on the same class level but talking to professional he says his girlfriend or daughter's mother

I'm not an uptight person, but it feels like it demeans the relationship and them as a parent, if they are heavily involved. My best friends and I will occasionally use the terms IN JEST with each other, but neither seriously nor publicly.

My friends call my bf baby daddy now i don't really care but when his friends or anyone he knows refers to me as baby momma I'm like no I'm the mother of his child or girlfriend not baby momma I correct them but it's not something that makes me so mad when they do it & I call him my baby's father or my man sometimes baby daddy slips out tho

To me it's really rude. It irks my nerves.it's like your calling me  a classless hoodrat that has children just to end up on government assistance that likes to party all the time and get drunk. Smh (I'm from Chicago) which is where being a  baby mama  is a bad thing.

I haaate that term! It's so ugly & disrespectful. My boyfriend is dark skin and I'm glad he's not ghetto enough to call me that, he knows I hate it too. 2nd kid and not once has he ever called me that.

I think it depends on the situation i sometimes have an issue not often in certain settings and around certain people sadly that gets more respect but me and my man have talked about it and its not really an issue

I actually have no problem with it even in my first trimester I referred to myself as his baby mama jokingly but I didn't take offence when someone said it not jokingly. I guess it depends on the person
