Very common! Just know yourself. Some come back happy and back to their normal selves. Others do need the help from professionals. But to answer id say definitely normal
I didn't have it. But my friend did and she said she wouldn't want much to do with the baby at first. After a few weeks it went away and she was feeling better.
80% of women will experience some sort of baby blues after delivery. It's very normal. If it lasts longer than 2 weeks, you'll want to talk to a medical professional.
I got PPD while i was 4 months prego with my first child. But i didnt avoid my daughter once she was born. I just was OCD when it came to her care. And i was hard on her dad. But i eventually needed medication. Your dr can see the symptoms of PPD before you can. I just hate when people say its mental and to tough it out. Thats wgen it gets worse cuz your not acknowledging that something is wrong. That's what i did at first and it just made my relationship worse.
Ashley, it sounds like what your friend had was Baby Blues, and kind of a severe case of it actually, but PPD usually starts later - months after the baby is born.
This scares me because I am still in college I am from TX but attend school in Orlando. My mom will be here for only 2 weeks to help me out after that I'm on my own well my bf and I are. I will be at home almost all day by myself with my daughter. I just hope I don't have to deal with PPD.
