Basically I know it may sound silly but I can't stop worrying earlier I was round a friends house and they had there car engine running while cleaning and hoovering it and kept pressing on the gas peddle for god knows what reason but that's just guys and there cars anyways I was standing outside talking to my friend whilst he was cleaning and hoovering his car but the smell of the petrol was so strong that it actually got to my throat to the point that I was coughing was only standing there for about 15 to 20 mins talking but the fact that it got to my throat and made me cough has really paranoid me that it's got to the baby and I'm really worried has this ever happened to anyone else and they've worried and everything's been fine with there baby? I need some advice plssss! Oh yeah I'm 40 weeks pregnant aswell so baby fully formed now!

I heard drinking milk help gets rid of toxins you inhaled while doin something, so maybe drink lots of milk just to keep ur mind at ease. My husband was told that by some foreign doctor,  cause he works a lot with toxic finishes for hardwood floors. But idk how much of that is true... but wouldn't hurt to try...

That short duration of exhaust inhalation should not harm your baby.  Try to avoid extended periods of any toxic inhalation in the near future.  Never feel like any question is silly.  Your care and concern for your unborn baby is what will make you a great mother!  Good luck and Congratulations!

I don't see why this should harm either of you as you could breathe car fumes just walking around. I would check with midwife to be on safe side plus baby ready to come out and your immune system should protect him/her xx
