I drink 2%. The problem with 1% and skim is it actually has more sugar content. And I personally think it tastes too watered down.
High fat milk is not bad! Our country is starting to change those outdated recommendations. Full fat keeps you fuller for longer, so you'll be drinking less lactose in the long run (it's the milk sugars that will pack on the unhealthy weight, not the fats) and the fats are actually helpful, providing essential nutrients for growing a baby. Remember to replace empty carbs like crackers, cakes, biscuits, or add to them with healthy higher fat foods like avocado, olive oil, flaxseed, coconut oil and cream, bone broth, nuts etc (e.g have nuts instead of a biscuit, or make biscuits out of almond meal instead, or load avocado onto crackers. Same principle, you'll be getting much needed nutrients, as well as feeling fuller for longer, needing less carbs in the long run.
I drink either 1% or lowfat too. That way when i have my bowls of cereal or milkshakes, i dont feel too bad.
Thanks traciv:) I would like to start drinking more milk now, that's why I asked. It's good to know that you can also drink 1%.
Wic says skim or 1%. It's what we usually get bit I crave whole milk and splurge on it every once in awhile.
