Risks for taking zofran?

I'm 13 weeks and I've had bad morning sickness ever since I was about 6 weeks. I've been dealing with it by what they always reccomend. Ginger ale, crackers, etc. Haven't really had significant relief. I heard about zofran but it has some slight risks for the baby and if you miss a dose you get really sick. Can someone clarify this for me?

Some doctors do believe that it can be linked to cleft lip and pallet. I'm 21 weeks and have kidney issues that make me very nauseas sometimes and I had to go to the ER and the nurses and doctors warned me against it. Nothing is proven yet. Just studies, and personal beliefs.

Zofran is like any other drug. It's a drug. There are tons of medications that doctors say are ok but as always, there are going to be risks. There are different classifications though and Zofran along with Tylenol and Sudafed are considered class "a" which means there is little risk to the baby. I have taken it with baby #2, #3 and now with baby #4. I never had a problem with missed doses because it was prescribed for every 4 hours as needed. So if I was having an exceptionally good day and didn't need it for 6 or 7 hours, I just waited until I needed it. Then the bad days I would need it every 2 hours but had to wait for 4 hours to pass before I could take it again. I think you'll be ok to take the meds but if you're worried about it, you can talk to your doctor about any concerns you have.

Zofran does wonders I've been taking it since I was 6 weeks and it has been the only relief I've gotten this whole pregnancy. I'm 37 weeks now and still take it every time I feel nauseous and it works like a charm. I highly recommend it

I'm 25wks, have to take a combination of zofran and phenagren. Have since very early on. Only negative I've found is zofran can constipate you, and phenagren makes u very sleepy. As for me I lost over 20pounds due to being so sick even with the meds, so I take it so I can keep stuff down cause baby needs the nutrition.

I don't really trust zofran but what I used to do when Ihad morning sickness is just have glass of water next to my bed and crackers. There are times I did vomit but not a lot just the sickness feeling but eat few crackers and plenty ofwater and it will go away. Just make sure youeat right away.

I've taken Zofran from week 6 to now...I have to take it every single day and I am 32 weeks now...My sickness never went away...It's prescribed to me for every 6 hours as needed...The only side effect that has been negative for me is constipation which is the main side effect of Zofran but it is TOTALLY worth it since I'm not miserably sick everyday! I have learned to eat yogurt and drink tons of fluids and lots of fiber to combat the constipation! Zofran has been my best friend through this pregnancy...I can't imagine how horrible it would have been without it!!!
