I've heard alot of people say that. But the baby doesn't have problems until they are older. You can quit for 9 months.  Think about the baby. ..

I would definitely say no!  Same with marijuana, since you wouldnt grab your newborn and shove a cigarette or joint in their mouths, you shouldn't be smoking.  It's the same thing, forced injestion of that smoke. Your baby doesn't have a voice, so you have to speak for them.

I use frebreeze to try and minimalize the odor apart intake but she won't quit a paraded I have nowhere to move to right now. I don't think I'm selfish and/or nasty because I can't help the fact I a paradigm exposed to it

I say no, no, no, and again no! people can say that their kids turned out fine, but they aren't their kid, who knows what their kid is feeling. it's just sad when its treated so inconsiderately.

Yeah I agree with everyone. I would never ever ever smoke while pregnant or even be around smoke. You can make your innocent baby suffer with birth defects and that's sad. I quit a month before I got pregnant and I will NEVER smoke again.

I think smoking or being around smoke when you're pregnant is very selfish and irresponsible. I have a lot of respect for the women who find out they're pregnant and immediately quit because that shows they have their priorities straight and they're ready to be a parent.

Never smoked a day in my life but would never smoke pregnant or even around kids!  Thankfully i live in Ontario, Canada and you cant smoke in resturaunts or in your your car with kids. Quit and save the same amount you would spend on smokes and buy yourself or the baby something awesome with the money you saved!

The thing that got me to quit was the idea of my baby being born at 20 weeks, having to be hooked up to so many tubes and fighting just to breathe. The reality is that the baby doesn't desearve that pain for your temporary comfort.

I'd try to quit, atleast until the baby's born! It's a very unhealthy and hard habit to break, you can do it! Good luck to you and your little one! :)

I've never smoked cigarets for the reason that it's bad for your health now imagin what it would do to an unborn baby. Just passing by people that smoke **** me off because I get bad headaches and stomachaches from smelling the smoke. I never once hesitated to smack a cigaret out of anyone's mouth that would smoke inside or outside of my house. I'm not about to have an asthma attack because of anyone especially not now that I'm pregnant! So if any of u lady's are pregnant and enjoy smoking plz for you little one at least quit till he or she is born and continue to do as you please after. I'm pretty sure you would rather suffer for 9 months from not smoking then seeing you baby suffer with possible birth defects for the rest of its life.

Quit. You don't need to wean off, it's much more recommended to just stop.

Quit. I smoked for 7 years and quit within 3 days. Dr told me the withdrawal thing is ********, ingesting rat poison and tar for any longer is so much worse for your baby then the stress of withdrawals. My friend just has her baby at 22 weeks and she was told specifically it was because the smoking.

Ok and on top of that, quitting cold turkey like that is dangerous too. Stress and withdrawal for both you and baby. Quit gradually. Dr will tell you same thing.

I quit smoking on both my pregnancies. To me its not fair to my child that they are forced to inhale the filth that II chose to smoke so I quit and I plan on staying away from cigarrets for good

I smoked for years!!!!! I thought I would never ever quit!!!! I didn't know I was pregnant til I was 12 weeks!!! The second I found out I never smoked another cigarette again!!!! I personally feel terrible for not knowing sooner and quitting sooner! I don't think that women should smoke while pregnant....it's not that hard to quit it's all just mind over matter.....if you can't quit completely smoke once a day and then quit. It's not that hard I know it's a struggle but it is possible and it's not as hard as people think it is.

Definitely a big no. I know that some people will say "well I smoked my entire pregnancy and there's nothing wrong with my kid". Honey those people are just lucky. It is scientifically proven that cigarette smoke,  even second hand smoke is very dangerous for the unborn child.  Please do the research and make an educated decision about the health of your child.

I give that a big no. No smoking at all during pregnancy. I was a smoker but u quit a month before I got pregnant! I just would not risk it. It can hurt the baby and cause birth defects and there little lungs won't develop correctly. Sorry girl. I say throw the cigarettes away. Don't wanna risk the health of the baby.
