So confused on which medications are ok and not ok...

At my first appointment I received a paper with a list of medications I can and cannot take if I get sick. Well a few days ago I started having flu like symptoms so I look at the paper and it basically says Sudafed for colds and Tylenol for pain or fever, but no Ibuprofen. I start taking the Sudafed for a few days, doesn't really help.. Only for the body aches. Well last night I had a fever of 101.4 so I decided to go to the ER just to be safe. Turns out I don't have the flu, just a really bad viral infection. They ask me what I've been taking and I said Sudafed. "Oh no ma'am we don't reccomend that"... Hmm weird it was on the paper I received. They end up giving me another paper with medications and it's the complete opposite of what my other papers say. No Sudafed but yes Ibuprofen. Now I'm so worried out of my mind that I hurt the baby somehow (Sudafed is Cat C)
Anyone have any advice on how to calm my nerves? I love this little baby with all my heart already and would never want anything to happen. Now I'm scared and yes this is my first pregnancy. Do doctors not pay attention to the papers they're giving out with false information that could harm my baby? It's ridiculous.

So sorry you're going through that,  but i'd get another medical opinion before taking ibuprofen or sudafed.

And they're telling me Ibuprofen is fine... This is frustrating.

The only over the counter medicine most dr's recommend is Tylenol. My Dr said absolutely no to ibuprofen since it is a blood thinner and works for inflammation.
