Sprinkle party??

Anyone ever have one? A few of my Co workers asked if u had plans to have one. I just had a girl in January which my shower was in November. I'm do with a boy this up coming January so we have nothing boy except for the big things. I don't know if it's appropriate to do with them being so close. We cloth diaper so I don't need diapers but could really use clothes and bath towels things like that for him. So torn. Please no rude comments I just wonder what the outsiders think lol.

My thoughts are, if someone doesn't like it they don't have to come. My friend had 3 boys, she didn't need anything but a few outfits since they were in different seasons. But we still had showers for her. Not for big gifts or anything, just to celebrate. It's exciting having another baby, talking birth stories, names, just getting together. She only registered for her first boy and her last child (a girl). You either brought something or you didn't. Just because you are already a mom or already have a boy doesn't mean you don't get a day to celebrate this new life.

I was a little uncomfortable with the idea of a sprinkle party, so I did a welcome home party. And had it more like a met and greet for our son, but he was also our second son (now expecting a 3rd son) so we didn't need anything. People still brought gifts.

I had a girl first time and having a boy this time. Since I am having a different gender people are planning a new baby shower for me :)

I think if it's opposite genders then is appropriate to do a shower. If you feel more comfortable calling it a sprinkle that's fine too.
