THE PEANUT!!!

ok i don't see much talk about it here, but how many of you ladies have been introduced to THE PEANUT!!! lol. it's a work out ball in the shape of a peanut, its proped between your legs to aid with dilation, i asked this because i see lots of women here say how dilation stalled for them so they either got the epi or had a section.but no one ever mentions THE PEANUT!!! they put it between my legs because i stopped at 6cm 30mins later i was pushing my baby boy out it will definitely be my first demand when i go this time being that im going all natural agin, i really want to know how many knows of THE PEANUT!!! lol how did it work for yall, and to let you guys know it is a option these days

its a work out ball in the shape of a peanut, it helps dilate after labor has started,i know it's probably just gaining popularity, thats what i was told when it was given to me just last year in may, that it was in the experimental stage, but they had a lot of success with it, and i was definitely another successful user ask about it at your appointments

So I'm getting induced as we speak and they have me using the peanut and I don't know if it was I was already dilated but this thing has my cervix dilating fast

yes omg im glad its working for you, so they just asked if you wanted to use the peanut or did you ask
I went from a 5 to a 91/2 in a hour an half .. I think my induction took 4 and half hours

Yes. I was seen all thru pregnancy by a mix of MD and Midwives but during delivery was tended to by mostly Midwives and they suggested it after the epidural as baby had slight dip in heart rate when I was laying on one side. They brought out the peanut and the rest is history. Pushed out my 9lb 7oz 22in daughter!! Will request this time around depending on how things go .

Yes. I used it to help labor progress after an epidural. Went from 4 cm to 10cm in about 2 hrs. Loved it and very comfortable and helpful as even with epidural it only dulled pain of contractions.

yay!!! im glad it worked out for you i think more women need to know about this so they can either see if the hospital offer it or if they can find one to by them selves to bring with them

it help dilate you if you stop, idk if it will help start labor though, i think its used to help labor progress after it starts, which is what happened to me i stopped at 6cm i was all natural though no pitocin i went in after my water broke, so i was able to use a breast pump to get the conractions started and THE PEANUT!!! finished me when i stopped dilating, but the pitocin is one of the sure ways to start labor without your body being ready, which is why its a ruffer labor

What is the peanut, I was induced the first time because I was under the impression it was my only option. I will never do that again...my labor and delivery was not horrible but it wasn't great either

i just may not need it the second time around, my baby boy is so low i feel his head movement in my kudder and my doc didnt even get her finger all the way in for the exam, and was like oh i feel his head, but if i make it to the hospital it will be the first request i make

when they recommended it to me they told me it was a new thing, but i figured a year and a half later it would have gotten around. my sister also had the choice of using it and couldn't take it, it is the devil lol. maybe i should keep this post up for a bit to inform ppl
