Taking Prozac while pregnant.

Ladies, I have a question... I am about 7 weeks & my doctor prescribed me Prozac. Are any of you taking it or have you in the past? I'm leary about taking it while I'm pregnant :/ Thoughts?

Hi. I checked again about the safety of Prozac in pregnancy, and I was wrong in the first post, Prozac is not safe, sorry! Did the Dr that prescribed it for you aware that you're pregnant?
There are a lot of different antidepressants that are safe though! I am on Anafranil.
You can check on the internet to find out about the different meds.

I was on Prozac before getting pregnant it helped sooooo much great medication. . Got off of it and still felt great but Dr is concerned for after the baby and even during so he said if I need anything g zoloft is what he will prescribe because it doesn't pass through breastfeeding milk and is class b I guess while Prozac is c .. don't know if it helps but I do hope u feel better :)

My Dr told me no to Prozac while pregnant.  She was really serious about it to. So she proscribed me Zoloft small dose of it. I look into the risk tbh

Taking the medication is a personal choice, you should do what is best for you and if your doctor says it's safe than it's safe. My medication hasn't been tested on pregnant women so there wasn't a way to know unless my baby was the guinea pig. And I didn't feel like dealing with any emotional stuff on top of hormones that changing the medication would've surely put me through. I've been medication free for three weeks and so far so good. I'm lazy that's the only thing I've noticed. I have no desire to do anything or go anywhere, but I know that will pass

That's how I'm feeling too.. But then on the other hand, I feel like I need to take something especially with all these mood swings im gonna have to deal with. Lol

I stopped taking my antidepressant as soon as I found out. I just wasn't comfortable with it

Hi. I am also on a antidepressant and I am 14 weeks 3 days today. I discussed the different types with my Dr, about which is safe and which not. I know for a fact Prozac is in the safe list.
It is also very important for you to have your depression treated throughout the pregnancy, to insure you take proper care of yourself.
