Talk to your doctor about taking a probiotic. Also, eat Greek yogurt with live active cultures once a day. It will help you get rid of it, soothe the irritation and prevent it in the future.
I am 10 wks and currently have thrush. What were you given to get rid of it? I have this liquid I'm suppose to rinse with and it's disgusting and with my morning sickness it doesn't set well.
I am 17 weeks and dealing with thrush. I got it from taking an antibiotic. I was prescribed an antifungal medicine and it went away for a few days and came back. Now I am doing the Nystatin rinse. I'm on day 2 of 5 and I haven't noticed an improvement yet. I had to wait until after the weekend to have my doctor call in the prescription for the rinse so I was doing Greek yogurts and my prenatal vitamin has a probiotic in it and I still have it. Sometimes thrush can be very hard to get rid of. I was on the same antibiotic with my first pregnancy and got thrush but the medicine took care of it right away.
If you have a partner then he needs to take the treatment as well or else you'll just continuously re-infect each other
It doesn't work like that. If the other person has no symptoms then they are fine. Everybody has yeast in their mouth and their body, it's only when there is an imbalance of bacteria that the yeast isn't kept in check by the bacteria and it over grows causing an infection. Normal healthy people don't usually get thrush. It's people with a weakened immune system such as pregnant women, the elderly, and people with HIV and AIDs. Or when an antibiotic is taken and it kills off too many bacteria and lets the yeast over grow. Thrush is not a communicable infection like that. It isn't caused by a foreign fungus or bacteria that needs to be treated it else will be contagious.
