Tile floors?

All of the main areas in my house are stone, only the bedrooms are carpeted.  Should I be concerned when baby starts taking his first steps?  I do have aeriel rugs about the home, but there is no way to keep him in those areas. Very open concept. I'm seriously considering a helmet and I know my husband and everyone else will give me crap for it, but I really do not want any cracked heads. Any ideas? Do you have hard floors? Was it an issue?  Thanks!!

My house is mainly tile. My son is almost two now and he has been just fine. He has hit his head a lot and fell off of our couches (and brick fire place) plenty of times. He cried and then he got over it and learned to be more careful. Your baby will be fine. They're a lot tougher than they seem.
It was fustrating when my son was an infant and not moving around much yet. This time around I have a foam play mat that I'm going to throw blankets on top of so my infant won't have to be on the hard cold floor all of the time. But once they get to the stage where they can move around a lot just let them go, there's no stopping them! Lol

I have tile in my house except for the bedrooms.  My daughter is now 2 & 1/2. She never hurt herself from falling on the tile.  She started walking about a week before she was 10 months old. Most of the falls will be on their butt, which is padded with a diaper anyway.  Just be sure to either have baby bare foot or have shoes on, not just socks.
