pelvic exam, resulting in bloody show?

Okay ladies yesterday was the first time I've been checked to see how dilated or effaced I am. I'm 39 weeks and 3 days. My midwife said I am one centimeter dilated and 60 % effaced. Immediately afterwards I had bloody show, and today I am losing parts of my mucus plug I believe? Just wondering how long you guys think labor will be here? I'm a FTM. And am very exciter and I'm doing a natural birth, no turning back lol!

Sounds like it's probably your plug, you may be losing it in peices. I lost mine in one big clump and oh boy there was just no mistaking it, sorry tmi lol. Really all your mucus plug means is that you've atleast started to dilate, but even that some woman are dilated for weeks before labor. For me personally I lost my whole plug and then had my son 4 days later or so. Sounds like your close though, these are all good signs your experiencing. Best of luck on your birth hun, I think going natural is a great way to go, I hope you get the birth you want.

I got checked for the second time yesterday and they always tell me spotting is normal after that. But both times I had no spotting. Had sex last night and this morning I had quite alot of discharge when I wiped that was weirdly thick and an almost pinkish clear color. So I'm pretty confused too, I thought/hoped it was my mucous plug as well! 40+1 weeks

It's not parts of your mucus plug it's normal to bleed after them checking your cervix. And you can be dilated for weeks it just depends on the baby
