Weight gain

So I'm almost 8weeks and already gained 8lbs. I was 124 pre pregnancy & I'm 5'8 now I'm 132. That's a lot of weight gain, but I can't help it because I'm always hungry. Has anyone else gained excessively during the first trimester? Did it even out by the third? I don't want to starve myself, but scared I'm gaining too much.

I was under weight before this pregnancy. This is my 3rd and esp the first trimester I ate EVERYTHING. I felt like a hippobut then it leveled out a bit in second trimester then the cravings came so I eat a lot again and it makes me sad but I only have a bout 5 weeks left. Pre pregnancy I was 118 at 5'6" and now at 35 weeks I'm about 155. I'm slowing down on the cravings to control my weight better but I know after the baby I want to weigh a little more. Nursing I will tell you will make you loose weight quickly no joke :)

I was in the normal range pre pregnancy. I can't really eat much now so it ***** been having smoothies and fruits, but I'm always hungry. I'm only 8 weeks and can't understand how much food the baby needs for me to be always this hungry.

Please take this as a compliment : it sounds like you were a little underweight to start with. Check with your Dr, but a healthy pregnancy for you might mean gaining 40 lbs. Don't freak out, just make sure you're eating healthy and it will all work out I promise!

Thanks, we're not that far off in height and pre pregnancy weight. This gives me hope. I'm just always hungry, and I work a lot and walk a lot at work so idk how I'm keeping this weight on. Most foods I can't eat now because I feel so disgusted. This ***** lol, but thanks for your help!

Pre pregnancy for my first child I was 116 ibs and 5'9" so underweight.  I ended up gaining excessive weight because I was so underweight in the beginning my habits became poor. It's not that the quality of the food  was so bad I just thought I could eat more and my body held on to it all. It was scary because I became huge. Apparently in my family women gain weight like that but I would just say slow down wi th the cravings, eat more protein some fat with every meal to satiate your appetite . With breastfeeding postpartum I was able to lose all the weight I gained. Snack on healthy foods like fruits and veggies with hummus. Try to eat a normal amount don't use th e pregnancy as an excuse to eat more because I did that and it wasn't good. A so make sure to exercise daily. It's hard but I'm in my second trimester and I really am watching my weight gain. So far I'm in normal range which idk incredibly happy about. Don't stress if idk gets excessive just try change lifestyle and habits. Best of luck!
