And I want to cuz I think over all its a lot cleaner and will be better for my son. I'm 38 weeks and I don't know how to get him to talk about it. Anything will help

I'm white and all 3 of my boys have not been circumsized...as long as u teach them how to clean properly there shouldn't be a problem health wise. You should YouTube a baby being circumsized maybe that will help with your decision...good luck

Im in the same boat, ive asked and a lot of these mommas in this app has actually done it and said that its better and it heals quick if you keep it clean. My bf is also from there and im latin so in our country they usually do that so it was hard at first to speak him about it since its a boy man thing but he said that yes we deffinately gonna do it because its better and would have less chances of having infections. I couldnt really make the choicd since i dont have a penis lol so i let that be his choice

Pediatric society is saying this is not needed anymore. My husband is not circumcised and would not have his son circumcised either. My husband has never had a problem and said as long as he is taught to clean he won't have a problem. You do not disturb it or have to really worry about cleaning well when they r kids it is as they grow bigger that they need to make sure the have good hygiene. My husband says if your husband is not circumcised as well he will teach your son everything he needs to know and not to worry.

When I talked to my husband about circumsizing our son, he said definitely yes. I was leaning towards not doing it, but was surprised by his response,  as he is not circumsize. But, his son from his first marriage is, so maybe I shouldn't have been surprised.  I think you should try to bring it up with him again, just so you can talk about the pros and cons of each option and find out his reasons.

My pediatrician says it's not needed if you live in a place with running water. Most of the studies showing that it helps with cleanliness and infections are done in developing countries where hygiene is an issue. Anther thing to think about is that the US is pretty much the only developed country that does it more often than like 15% (I think like 40% do it here). Most people do it for religious reasons, or because they live in a place where it's hard to keep clean. Your bf can teach him how to keep it clean. And I can see why he doesn't want to talk about it, he may be offended if you're telling him it's dirty not to circumcise, and he's not...

So, you're pro circumcision, and he's against circumcision (his family's with him).  He's not wanting to talk about it.  Is all of your family with you?

Medically and for health reasons, there are some good reasons to do it, but there are also some good reasons not to do it.  A compromise would be to hold off until there appeared to be an actual medical usefulness or need to do it, which may never occur.  [I'm firmly in this last camp. I also think whenever it's a coin flip, the male parent gets to decide sexual health matters for the son.]

It's a very political topic too, mothersagainstcirc.org being typical for the against side.  It might be useful for you to read that through for what his side might be concerned about (since he's not talking), to pick up some of the concerns and reasonings his family's side may have.
