I couldn't find a list but here are some websites.

Anything that comes with the carseat is good...if it came with the carseat it had to be crash tested with that item and it passed
What about the neck support? I ordered a car seat that has one in side. Is this list online somewhere? I'm feeling like a ftm all over again lol
Im not too big on what's "in". I do know that car seats now have expiration dates and that they have to have a detachable base (at least here in PA). It's no longer allowed to put the seat belt across the car seat.
The crib info on the previous post is the same I have. No fluff and fuss. Baby sleeps on their back.
Oh, no baby powder. They say baby can inhale the dust and it causes a lot of lung Issues.
I can't think of anything else off hand but I know what you are going through. I haven't had a baby since '07.
Thnx melB!! Good advise!! I totally had to screenshot that lol. My son is 12 so its been a while since I've had to take of a newborn. :)
So I'm not telling you what to do with your baby only what I remember being recommended by my hospital and the America Academy of Pediatrics:
Sleep - on back, nothing in crib or bassinet except fitted sheet on mattress (no blankets, stuff animals, positioners, fluffy bumpers or pillows), properly fitted infant mattress (no gaps), no drop side cribs, no bottle propping, swaddling is accepted but don't restrict hip/leg movement
Carseats - make sure you are using properly (google carseat clinic to find local places to help with installation if needed), rear facing until 2 yrs or weight limit carseat is rated for had been reached, no thick coats in carseat, tight straps with chest clip at armpit level, if you can move carseat more then an inch from side to side it is too loose, no positioners in carseat unless it came with the carseat
Food/Medicine - no solids before 4 months including rice cereal, use baby Tylenol sparingly unless you have been told otherwise by doctor and do not overdose
Pacifiers are a personal preference, thin nipples are "in" for newborns currently
My personal favorite baby product I couldn't live without...the Nosefreda and saline solution...it killed me if I heard my baby struggling to breathe through her nose
Im a ftm and I still dont really know, stuff I just look up on the internet or ask my mom. I guess if its worked before keep doing it? Haha idk, Id like to know too.
