ZOFRAN HELP PLEASE?!?!!

Ok im sure all of us have heard by now about the risks of taking zofran while pregnant and how their is a large lawsuit being formed from women who took zofran and their child was born with cleft pallet or lip. I am now 27 weeks and 4 days. I remembered that when i got in a car accident back in November i was perscribed perkaset for pain, and ondansentron (zofran) for nausea from taking the perks. At that time i was either 12 or 13 weeks. There were 4 pills all together and every four hours i took a perkaset and half a pill of the zofran. I made sure to tell my doc about the perkaset and took myself off of it after about 2 days, but didnt even think to tell her about the nausea pill because in my mind i was thinking perkaset was the dangerous drug. i did take all four pills of zofran in those two days. I am really concerned now after reading all of the horror stories from the news...anyone have experience or professional info on this that can ease my mind, or should i stay concerned for my princess?

I took it for months early on. I couldn't keep anything down without it. My baby liked fine on ultrasound.  They checked for cleft palate/lip. They saw nothing wrong with his heart either.  Everything has been fine.  I am due in 1 month, so we will see. I know another woman that took it thru her while pregnancy and had a very healthy little boy.

Zofran lawsuit has been issued since 2013 the reason why they still prescribe it is because they need more studies on it so the women that take it is their guinea pigs. If your child has any of the issues when born consult a lawyer.

Thank you that does help me feel a little bit better. I just have this fear of somthing being wrong with her because i know for me, i tend to be dealt a bad hand often, and i dont want that to be passed down to her. Also because when i got her genetic ultra sound they said they saw a very small and VERY COMMON white spot on her heart, which she said 1000 times its very very common and will most likely go away in time and if it doesnt it still will not affect her. So since she told me that obviously im going to be concerned about absolutely every thing. (Im a first time mom if you cant tell) lol

I can't totally make you feel better, but I might help some!!! First, consider that many many many more pregnant women took zofran than those who ended up with a child with a cleft pallet. Likewise, it is very likely that many of the mother's who had children born with a disfiguration like that were prescribed zofran for extended periods of time, and likely took more than just two to four days worth of it.

Of course you will be concerned for your little one!!! But don't forget the much larger percentage who took zofran who didn't experience those problems!
