In my first trimester I was so sick I was losing allot of weight and couldn't eat anything. My doctor said he wouldn't prescribable me zofran because it can cause heart problems in mommy. My Dr gave me phenergen and said he didn't like to give me that either but it's the lesser of two evils because it is known to sometimes cause muscle tightness in mommy. Just passing along what my Dr said about it :)
I had terrible morning sickness all 40wks whenever I didn't take zofran. Took it my whole pregnancy birthed a healthy baby girl 1-23-12
I'm not sure about Zofran .....my doctor ended up giving me Phenergan .
I am currently 25 weeks and have been on zofran for the past 17 weeks and my baby is fine. There are many false claims out there against certain meds just like there are about vaccines. Be careful what you read and from where.
Actually there isn't anything wrong with taking zofran... I'm actually on a zofran pump that administer the med to me continuously all day to help with my morning sickness... I'm 20 wks and my baby is doing just fine..

My doctor won't write prescriptions for it
My doctor gave me a Zofran substitute because the original was said to cause horrible side effects to the baby. But of course nothing is perfect and not worth risking my baby, so I stopped taking the substitute and have just been dealing with the throwing up (I'm now 33 weeks and I've thrown up since the first few days of being pregnant. It ***** but its not impossible to deal with).

I'm in my second trimester now, and my OB prescribed it to me. It is a category B, and safe to take as needed throughout the entire pregnancy! :)
My doctor prescribed it and then called me the next day and told me not to take it
