a gross question, cat with worms

Sorry if this is gross, but my kitten has worms and i am 21 weeks. My hormones are going crazy lately, and I am so paranoid, i wash my hands all the time, and im not letting my cat near me. I treated him with a pill for worms yesterday but i cant sleep all night and im having nightmares about having worms and whenever i wipe myself i check if anything is moving. Can i get the worms from the cat easily? he is in our living room and im terrified of touching something that he might have been on and getting the worms! Help, am i overreacting?

My puppy had worms in last pregnancy and me and my husband were treated as a precaution.  I was in the third trimester but the pharmacist said it was safe to take. I cnt remember what we took but all was fine with the baby :)

I hope im safe! im 21 weeks and been in the hospital twice already and im so scared i'll have to go again because of something. It kills me that the vet didnt tell me how long it takes for the cat to be worm free

the reason they say its not safe to change a litter box because cats stool can have bacteria called toxoplasmosis, but if your cats are indoor cats, you dont feed them with raw meat and they dont eat mice, they cant have that bacteria. even if they do eat raw meat the only way to get the bacteria is if you clean the litter box with your bare hands and eat afterwards without washing your hands.

I have 3 cats and had them through my first pregnancy. It is perfectly safe to clean the litter unless your doing it with your bare hands only. The reason they say not to is not cause of the scent its cause of a bacteria in the stool itself so again good personal hygiene

When I found out I was pregnant I got rid of our cat I didn't wanna risk anything over my bby... they don't want us changing the litter either so I figured I would find our cat a wonderful home and b at peace wit everything..  my pregnancy, the cat being taking care of and when I brought my bby home..

No it is scarey. Just make sure to vaccum all furniture and floors. Wash base boards and non carpeted floors. Keep hands clean. You'll be OK. Treating kitty is step one. Clean freak cleaning every few days for like 2wks is step 2. Then you should be good
