Baby Shower opinions
So apparently, a friend of my MIL is giving me a baby shower? I have never met this woman and have no idea who she is..lol. I think its a very nice gesture but i have one question lol. I guess my MIL is working with this woman to do the shower and i have been completely left in the dark about it. The only thing i know is date and time. I dont mean to sound unappreciative, however, shouldn't they want my opinions? Anything? It feels very awkward as a complete stranger is giving me a shower to begin with and i just feel as if im jumping into an empty pool not knowing ANYTHING. I have no idea who is coming, they have not TOLD me ANYTHING! all i know is a unknown person is giving me a shower..lol. This feels awkward.. Any advise? Would this make u feel strange? I mean its unordinary for a stranger to give a shower right? Lol Im just bothered a lil that no one has asked me anything.. my MIL SAID just write the date and time down.
I've been to a few baby showers before that were a huge surprise to the moms to be & were successful! It's normal for people to throw showers for you and for you to still have your own.
true. :) Idk.. like i said a bit awkward to walk into a shower you know nothing about and a room full of strangers maybe.. lol
Well ya let them have a baby shower for you and then throw your own for your family and friends :)
@sber0829 its not a surprise and as i have said before i am very appreciative. Its just a lil awkward. I dont even know who to get a thankyou gift for.
Oh idk how this woman will invite anyone i know when she dont know me! hahaha My MIL is very controlling and more and likely its going to be all her elderly friends.. I just feel a lil uncomfortable about the whole thing.
What if they just want it all to be a surprise? I mean really if you want your own baby shower than you should throw your own so you can have it the way you want. If you are paying for the baby shower they are planning than of course you should have a say so , but If they're trying to give you something you shouldn't be picky. Not everyone have people who wanna do that for them.
Unless they are planning the most spectacular baby shower...ya its a lite weird. Honestly I want to plan my baby shower. I even want to set everything up and I definitely want to say who gets invited. I guess just see how it goes. If it doesnt go so well just plan another shower if she doesnt invite people you would want invited or anything else major like that. Good luck!
