I had a c-section with my first.  The gave me percocet in the hospital and to come home for the pain.  I breastfed and used formula (I didn't have enough milk).
My baby was fine. I didn't think the recovery was that bad. I telly didn't have any pain after being home a couple of days.

The c section itself doesn't hurt. It's the healing process that's awful. I'm trying to avoid another one cause one you get home all you have is the pain meds they prescribe you and whoever's there to help you out.

I had a c section, they prep me for surgery. They install a urinary catheter, gave me a soinal tap and anesthesia and they cut me open. You won't feel them cutting you only a lot of pressure and pulling. They sew me back together and it took about 20 minutes, took me back to my room and hook me up on morphine. The only pain I experience was trying to move around such as going to the bathroom..etc, they encourage you to walk so you won't develope any blood clots.

I had a c section with my first and they gave me percocet because it was safe for breastfeeding mothers.
If you're uneasy about it, just ask what the possible side effects in yourself and your baby are. And then ask about the likelihood of those side effects, you know, how often they occur. Then weigh the pros and cons and make an educated decision. And you can always fill the Rx and just hold on to it in case regular Tylenol doesn't help.

The doctor prescribed me percocet when I was discharged from the hospital. I was afraid that it will harm my baby and will be in my breast milk, but the doctor reassure me it was safe. I took tylenol to be on the safe side.
