They usually do it at the first appt. Mine was done at 9 weeks. It's so if they find something they can treat you in enough time before delivery. Everyone I know has had it done at their first appointment so I'm not sure. That's just What I know.

They will most likely do a pap. They have too. But it's not bad at all. Just try to keep your mind off of it

A light??? Hahah that's weird. I've had about 14 PAPs in my life and 1 during this pregnancy and I can say I've never heard of someone having a light stuck up them. Lol it's really not bad at all. Honestly....the entire PAP for me took less th am a minute. You'll be fine. Don't stress hun and definitely don't worry about a light going up there

I know. But there are things that you may not know you can have. If they want to do one do it. It Will do nothing but benefit your baby and make sure everything is ok. We all had to do it. You will get thru it girl.

Well I'm not sure if you will get one or not but they basically do a physical and swab your vaginal cavity. It looks for infections, STUds and other things to make sure that there is nothing you have that caN harm the baby. The sonogram is literally not uncomfortable at all....but if they do a PAP (which they may or may not), it's not bad and it's super fast. Like literally less than 5 minutes.

No it doesn't hurt at all. They just put some gel on your stomach and rub a wand over it. It will show them an ultrasound of the baby. The anatomy scan is usually done around 20 weeks and they will check to make sure that the baby is healthy and growing well. They may do a PAP on you too since it's your first appointment too so they can check for infections and other things. That doesn't hurt either but it is uncomfortable

What do they do for a sonogram ? Does it hurt?

You should get a sonogram at your first appt. Your insurance covers your anatomy scan so they will probably do all at your first appt. Since you are already 24 weeks. Insist on it cause Medicaid will cover it
