Mirena is & has been on recall..i had the 10yr IUD & heard too many horrible stories about it for ex. If you are having sex with someone with a large penis it can move the IUD out of place & start to travel inside your body i also heard if that happens you will need to have surgery to have it removed..my personal experience was when i was having sex i lift my legs up & when i had an orgasm i had a horrible pain & also felt something move inside of me & i was not prego i never told my dr i just got it removed
I had mirena for 2 years. Had it removed feb 2014 and waited to start trying until april 2014 so I could have a couple normal periods... by may 1st I had a positive pregnancy test. I am now 24 weeks. :) happened much faster than we thought it would haha
Hi everyone if im 17 weeks how many months am i ?
I had 2 Mirena IUDs over the course of 7 years. The 1st Mirena was great, but the 2nd was a nightmare. I had lots of gastro issues. I had it removed in April 2013 & experienced weird withdrawal symptoms so I figured I'd let a few cycles go by to get my system on track before trying to get pregnant. Oh, by the way, all my gastro issues stopped when that thing was removed. Anyway, my husband & I struggled for 6 months. My periods were very irregular, sometimes being very heavy & painful which was not how my periods were before the Mirena. We also suffered a miscarriage & that's when I went back to the doctor to get checked out since we're both 35 years old. A blood test showed that my hormones wouldn't support a pregnancy & I 100% feel was linked to the Mirena. My doctor prescribed progesterone supplements to start on day 14 of my next cycle, but to our shock & amazement, I was already pregnant again so my doctor had me start 200mg a day of progesterone inserts that I took until 14 weeks. I'm now 38 weeks & can't believe I'll be holding my son soon.
1st month trying waiting to test next week ! But if not we will keep trying to conceive
I had the 5 year mirena. I got it taken out and got pregnant 2 months later. So it happened fairly quickly. Although I did have a miscarriage (not saying that was because of the mirena we aren't sure why) I also had a second miscarriage about a year after the first. But now I'm finally 34 weeks pregnant so all together it was about a year and a half after I took it out that I had a successful pregnancy. Again not saying it was the mirena that caused my miscarriages just giving you my experience. Good luck
