babies stopped practicing breathing

I'm prego with twins boys. I'm 31weeks  5 days. Both babies have been practicing they breathing at each appointment each week. Well this past week the ultrasound text tried for a hour and a half and neither would practice they breathing. So the next day(Christmas eve) my doc scheduled me to go to the hospital to give another ultrasound. Well still no practicing. Well to doc on call told the nurse to let me go because both heart beats and movement was great and that he didn't understand why my doc would be so worried about it this early. So honestly I'm lost here. Has anyone been through this with their baby? I have my next appointment Tuesday but my nerves is gone in the mean time. Also I'm been having horrible inner leg pains. I can barley walks. Thanks in advance!

Practice breathing is more frequent the farther along you are.  I imagine they  are checking you earlier than normal because your having twins.  Normally Dr's don't start checking for practice breathing till 32-34 weeks.  Try not to stress. A healthy heartbeat is what's most important.

I'm not sure why your doc is concerned either. That isn't an activity that they constantly do.
